Different looks for the festive navratri nights 2017
As you know that Navratri is round the corner, the enthu cutlets like me have already begun the countdown! I am all set to hit the Garba ground with different looks every day. Well, who wants to follow the same boring look for the most vibrant nine nights in the Gujjuland? All my fellow Gujaratis can relate to this for sure.
Hope you all are done with your shopping, if not, you might want to check out the latest trends in the local market that mainly showcases chaniya cholis with pompoms, tassels and bright colors.
Also, there is a new concept trending this year and that is chaniya cholis with digital prints. Let me not forget to mention that chaniya cholis with the poster print of the blockbuster movie “Bahubali” will definitely drag your attention at once!
Apart from these, there are “never going out of the vogue” Kutchi embroidery work chaniya cholis, Bandhej, Leheriyas and the Gamthi printed cotton chaniya cholis too available in the market.
Go and grab yours! What? Are you still confused?
Alright, take a look at my style of dressing up and pick one that suits your persona. Here we go!
Look 1: Traditional Minimalistic
I am wearing a Black cotton chaniya with gold sequins and a pink brocade border. I have teamed it up with a traditional Kutchi embroidery work blouse that is usually backless and has 2 or 3 stings to tie, and, a plain black dupatta. Since I have long hair, I choose to tie my hair in a bun for Navratri as they are more manageable that way. Also, I don’t intend to wear heavy make-up with this look. Hence, kohl eyes, a tint of red lipstick and a bindi is all you need. As it’s a minimalistic look, I’d prefer either earrings or a neck piece or just a bangle/kada to accessorize.
Look 2: Indo-Western look
This is quite a quirky look according to me. If you have a corset, wear them with a matching or a contrast colored chaniya and a scarf as a dupatta.
I choose to follow my party make-up for this look which comprises of smokey eyes, light blush and my all time favorite red hot lipstick. For the Indian touch a bindi is a must, while you can accessorize yourself with an ear cuff, hand cuffs and a boho neck piece.
Look 3: Halter-neck Blouse
A variation of the same look could be a combination of a halter blouse with a traditional chaniya and a colorful dupatta. Don’t overload yourself with accessories for such a look, so, I picked only two, that is traditional nath and a heavy necklace. For the make-up, I chose smokey eyes, two tone lipstick- orange & pink , and peach blush. Don’t forget to add a flower to that messy bun!
Look 4: Modern & Bling
Who doesn’t like to make heads turn with an outstanding style statement?
Wear a crushed silk skirt with a sequins crop top and a dupatta , while accessorize yourself with oversized kadas, a statement neck piece and a matching pair of earrings. To add the twist to the look, wear a ‘Nathori’ style jewel nose piece. Do shimmery gold smoky eyes and a neat hair up-do to glam up the look. Tweak your outfit a little to come up with a new look for a different day!
Look 5: Sequence blouse – Two ways to wear one outfit
A slight variation could be done by just replacing the crop top with a heavy silver sequins blouse.
Look 6: Traditional Ethnic Style
Traditional look is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea as it requires lot of dress-up. But you might want to go for a color riot the way I did!
A heavy, colorful, full flare chaniya teamed up with equally colorful choli and dupatta gives a feeling of a canvas splattered with colors. Bright make –up and adorned with accessories like bangles, nathni, tika, necklaces and earrings are just right and not too much for this look. Also, don’t forget to wear a gajra with real or artificial flowers as per your preferences.
So here are 6 different looks for you to style for the nine Garba nights, you can use these simple fashion tricks and use your creativity to come up with a different look everyday and come up with different ways to style your navratri outfit every single night of the Garba. Hope you guys have a fabulous Navratri 2017!
