Trend Alert : How to style the coveted Dungaree Dress
Dungarees have been the fashionista’s most loved, most adorned and most flexible on the go outfit last year. Infact, I have been drooling over this trend since it has started way back in 2014 😀 If you haven’t checked out already, do see how I have styled both the short denim dungaree and full-length dungarees in my earlier post. Past season’s utilitarian dungarees have given way to more chic and dressed up version “a Dungaree Dress” this year. This particular outfit that once was spotted only in the racks of kids section is fast becoming a major style icon along with all its cuteness and comfort. Lets own it, we all love an outfit that is cute, sexy, comfortable and yet manages to raise eyebrows now, Don’t we?
So I have got these nautical striped dungarees from Stalkbuylove that I was dying to wear since I got them. But as I was in my ninth month of pregnancy and I couldn’t possibly fit into them I waited for 50 days post delivery to don them. Yep that was the maximum I could wait! These pictures are from when my toddler was a month and half old. But believe me I was totally comfortable wearing this super fun outfit. I kept it simple to the T donning just the dungaree Dress and accessorizing it with a transparent satchel bag (courtesy – Stalkbuylove), my fav converse sneakers and a smile. That’s about it.
At first I felt a little skeptical about the dungaree dress as it was not your normal dungaree, these are skirt dungarees and you cant just skip, hop, jump in them like the jeans or routine dungarees. But what I experienced completely changed my opinion towards them. They are cozy, they are comfortable and they have pockets too! What else would a girl want?
I paired my dungarees with a simple white t-shirt to keep it casual and sporty. One could play with contrasting colours with this outfit. There are many ways to rock this dungaree dress and I am coming to it at the end of the post. Meanwhile check out some pictures from my ootd shoot.
