Trend Report – Purvi Doshi’s fall 2014 collection “Back to Start” in Bangladesh
With the idea of bringing back to “Mother Earth”, the Ace Designer who is sucker for all things nature presented with a collection that has been hand-crafted by the embroiders of Kutch and Gujarat on the naturally woven ingenious fabric Khadi.
Purvi showcased her collection at “The Lustrous Runway” in Bangladesh. She was the only Indian designer selected to present her collection there. The Gujarat based designer Purvi showcased her collection with draped silhouettes in off-white natural fabric Khadi embellished with hand-craft embroidery and mirror-work depicting the Mother Nature in forms of birds and flowers.
The roses bloom in Winter and Purvi’s collection was full of pretty pink roses in the midst of wilderness. Defining her collection, Designer Purvi said, “India is so vast and rich in its diversity. I always wanted to promote the natural fabrics we have in our country – it is an excellent way to progress. This collection is very close to my heart since Indian handlooms touches upon the livelihood of millions of Indians. I enjoyed every minute and there is a lot of hard work involved in it. We have only made use of manual work to contribute to the country’s employment.”
