How I channelized Top fashion trends in Indian designer outfits this Wedding Season – Style tips
Winter is on its way & with the Wedding season nearing, there can be no better time to sport the elaborate traditional outfits fresh from the ramps of top fashion shows of India! This years Winter fashion trend in traditional & designer outfits is all about revivals. 80’s and 90’s are coming back with a twist. Bling is high and so is fusion. We can see lot of International fashion Week’s inspiration on Indian clothes in the recently wrapped up Lakme fashion Week Winter festive as well as Wills lifestyle fashion Week! With so many wedding’s lined up, I am already gearing up for some elaborate traditional outfits with a quirky twist. I do not want to look like a sheep in the heard in the coming weddings that I am attending and so I have already headed on to DesignItYourself (DIY) outfit’s that I have curated taking a cue or two from the top trends of Winter festive 2014. Here are few trends fresh from ramp that you can sport at the next wedding you are attending! 😉
1. Crop Top:
The gift of last summer, Crop tops continue to amaze us on the fashion scene this Winter! Festive outfits have taken inspiration from crop tops by using them in Anarkali’s and Pallazzo pants. You can style your traditional outfit with this western influence trend by pairing a crop top inspired blouse with your Saree and bring in the fun element. You have already seen how I paired up my crop top with Palazzo here for a Casual look! Here is how I used my crop top with ethnics for a traditional look! (Style Tip: These pictures are from a cousin’s wedding and you can very well get similar outfit for the Wedding season!)
This is my Crop top infused Anarkali! The floor length Sheer net Anarkali has a Cropped top & lehenga inside! The lehenga gives a considerable Volume to the fall of the Anarkali, while the Crop top gives a quirky twist to this Traditional outfit! The best part about this outfit is that I can wear the crop top with the lehenga seperately as well!
(Stay tuned for my next blog if you wanna know, how I came up with this outfit and how can you get one for yourselves)
2. Jacket Lehenga or Jacket Saree:
Jackets, Blazers, Capes & Over-coats have always been a winter staple for the Autumn Fall Runway’s of International Fashion Shows! However this time these Winter wardrobe essentials have made their way into our Indian designers closet’s jamming up with Elaborate Anarkali’s, Lehenga & Sarees. One close look at the Lakme Fashion Week Collection of celebrated fashion designers like Manish Malhotra, Anita Dongre, Masaba Gupta, Swati Jain & Recently, Rohit Bal’s Bridal couture collection at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2014 and you would understand what I am saying. Vest’s, Bandh-gala Jackets, Over-coats in silk and khaadi compliment the chiffon georgette Anarkali & Ghagras! Here is how I sported the Jacket Lehenga look for one recent wedding of my cousin sister.
I used a gold Bandh-gala Jacket over a flowy lehenga bringing in a twist into the routine Ghagra Choli by replacing the Choli with this Jacket!
Style Tip: (Psst. Wanna know how I design these outfit’s in a budget friendly way?? DIY Outfit post are coming up on the Blog soon!)
3. Bling & Metallics:
Autumn has always been associated with dull colours and dark hues! Not anymore!! This year it’s all about Metallics. Bling is super high in trendy traditional outfits. Gold, Silver, Metallic Blue, Ox-Blood and Wine are some colours which have taken centre stage with shimmer materials to bring out the old world charm & retro look. Balancing out your metallic colours is really important while sporting them. Thus use of plain textured materials, nautical stripes & soft prints have also taken vogue on the fashion scene!
Check out how your fashionmate has used Metallic in Wardrobe! I have used a metallic gold blouse with a lace saree.
Style tip: Always use metallic colours with a solid colour preferably in the undertone or contrast!
