Bubbly Alia Bhatt dons a red lehenga and walks for Ace designer Manish Malhotra at India Couture Week 2014
I know this is old news now, but I still can’t get over with the awesomeness of “India Couture Week 2014” and the fantastic designs dolled out by my favorite designer Manish Malhotra! Okey I am in love with this guy and it is well known, but the fact that he creates master-piece after master-pieces is what makes me go gushing about him on the blog. Another reason I am posting it is Alia Bhatt!
Alia Bhatt walked for Manish Malhotra in one of his bridal collection at the India Couture Week 2014 that took place last week in New Delhi. She looked effortlessly elegant, shedding her bubbly cute avatar, she walked in a red lehenga choli with gold embellishments and a net gold duppata with zari border.
I loved the fact that she styled her hair up in a sleek updo and kept the rest of the look to the bare minimum bringing all the attention to the amazing bridal lehenga. Her make-up was very sublte with a nude lipstick and no accessories at all, giving a exclusive statement look to the garment itself. The deep neck of her choli was beautifully covered by the sheer dupatta giving her the oh-so-elegant look!
It turns out that not only Alia Bhatt, even Aditya Roy Kapoor walked for this amazing designer as a part of his new initiative to take fresh faces as his show-stoppers, I think he wanted to channelize the young generations for his bridal collection. And who better than Aditya Roy Kapoor to be the most suitable bachelor in town.
I do not think anyone could do such magic on Alia as Manish Malhotra. Such Grandeur, such Drama, such luxury and yet so subtle, such innocence. The red colour is ethnic for Indian brides and I am sure after seeing this outfit many brides are already vying to get this lehenga designed from Manish. This reminds me of Alia’s famous dialogue from her recent movie, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania as Kavya, “Mein toh Kareena wala Designer Lehenga hi Pahenugi” If you have not read our earlier post about who is going to be the show-stopper for Manish’s upcoming fashion show at LFW please do so!
