SPLURGE Hand-made Almond Oatmeal Scrub – Review

SPLURGE Hand-made Almond Oatmeal Scrub – Review

Hello Fashion Peeps,

Hope you guys are doing well.. Okay so since a long time I was missing my personal beauty tips and reviews on the blog. Remember our Restyling posts way back in 2012?? Well I thought It’s time now to hop back into 1st gear and share with you guys some beauty tips, thus I am doing this amazing review of a hand-made, chemical free Almond & Oatmeal Scrub by “SPLURGE”. It so happened that I came across Dr Roma Thadani, founder of the brand “SPLURGE” and a certified cosmetic formulator, through a common friend and I was discussing with her my skin pigmentation issues. It turned out she had a hand-made recipe for that, She was kind enough to hand over this amazing scrub for review. The lovely note that came along with the hamper was a sweet gesture. I have been using it since past 10 days and here I am posting the review!!

My Review of SPLURGE Hand-made Almond Oatmeal Scrub

So as I already mentioned earlier, since past few weeks I have been facing skin pigmentation issue. My skin type is a combination skin with oily T-zone and pigmentation is a major issue. Most of the times the scrubs and face-washes that I use, either makes my skin dry and if they are moisturized cosmetics they make the forehead and nose area too oily and it may darken due to dirt accumulation, this is the basic nature of my skin and thus I avoid using chemically laid cosmetic products which may lead to more drying out of my skin with accumulation of dead skin. Thus when Dr. Roma suggested to me one of her hand-made chemical free scrubs for pigmentation and cleansing of combination skin,  I was more than grateful to try one and review it.

Texture of Almond Oatmeal Scrub

This scrub comes in a round shaped bottle in a powder form, the powder is a very non-gritty smooth powder of almond and oatmeal as you can see from the picture. This scrub has to be mixed with a teaspoon of milk to make a smooth paste and applied on your face. I applied the scrub everyday few minutes before bath and used to gently rub off while taking bath. Contradictory to the normal scrubs this scrub is not soapy or gritty and is quite gentle on the skin which is a good thing for people with dry skin as they can use the scrub without causing tearing of the skin. The scrub does not have any particular smell as there is no artificial fragrance added into it. For me it was more like a face-pack since it has a paste like application and no lather. However, it cleanses the skin pores thoroughly and does leave my skin more supple and glowing. I am quite happy with the results I am getting. After using it for 10 days, I observed lightness in my pigmentation and softness in my skin.  It is not that my skin has changed drastically, but so far so good. My skin is clean and supple every morning and it stays the same for the whole day, unless I go out and sweat. I would totally recommend this Scrub to anyone who is having combination skin like mine. Also to others as this scrub is actually great for both dry and oily skin. Its paste form is more like a cleansing pack which exfoliates the dead skin layer gently. There was no irritation, itching and redness to my skin even though mine is a really sensitive skin (It’s so sensitive that, I can not bleach my skin). Which means that the NO CHEMICALS adage after all might be true!

If at all there is anything not likable about this product, it would be the style of application, as it requires you to add milk to it to make a paste and apply it. It is not a quick-fix. Thus those who are looking out for Quick-fixes, this product is not for you. However I would add that Quick-fixes always do not give the expected results. As it is always said, beauty needs time and care. In case you love your skin and are ready to spend a few minutes for it, I’d say this is your best deal.

I hope this review will help you guys to select a perfect beauty scrub for your skin as well. If you are a great lover of all things Natural, this review might actually help you.
